Alright guys, I've been talking with some of the staff, and we feel it would be neat to try a post-HL2 RP, meaning that humanity has won, but is still beginning to recover, personally I am for this and would like to try it out.
Humanity will still be rather scattered, and basically anyone can start a little gang, or faction, but will be put in three general types.

United Human Defense Force:
The combined might of all humanity's resistance forces, this organization, through the seizure of Combine technologies as well as Human, has obtained global reach, and has been able to set the law of the land, but the world is still a bit in the wild-west stages, now moving on to farming old livestock, as well as xenian life forms such as Antlions,

The Combine:
Now heavily weakened by Humanity's strike back, they are now scattered amongst the globe in small pockets, nowhere near their original strength, and completely cut off from the rest of the Combine forces, they are now in the same position as the resistance once was.

Human/Rogue Combine Roving Gangs:
These are exactly as they sound, gangs that go around doing bad, or even good, these are the rare few who decided not to join in with the UHDF, preferring to stay on their own.

How would that go with our current chars? If that means killing someone off, I am strictly against that.

If this means are characters loose backstories or everyone gets a sexy PK card than no thanks if not than I say booyah.

This would be a good response to the "Lambda Butterfly RP", where it is just after the Combine has won, then there are servers in the different parts of the story.

I'm not against this if Otto is not dead.

It depends on, yes, the PK thing and also, will we keep the old pre-HL2 server up, because I like to RP before HL2 with the Combine still in control but I've been wanting to try this very thing for a long time.

If we keep/copy the MySQL (incase people hate the idea after a moment) AND we can keep the character BUT need to make a story about what happened to him/her. Im fully supporting, i never saw a RP about the future of HL2, would be interesting...

But it would be nice to get someone to write the story about : What happened, so we can get in without too much problem, +++ New applications has it would be different (In another section to keep old app...)

You should also try to ask the server to add episodic content... I think it would be better
Because advisor, magnuson, etc, would be needed. (Has its AFTER EP2...)

we keep the same exact chars, so we don't have to sort out this type of mess, and how far forward are we to combine losing? is this a few hours after winning? a year? a decade?

Your characters would be kept, unless your char has a fatal disease that will kill them in the next two weeks, I have no clue why you guys think that you would loose your char's, and to answer Bloodmaster, This will be set roughly 2-2 1/2 years after the events of HL2 Ep2. (unless valve can finally count to three, then we can get closure.) There won;'t be much MySqL changes (save MAYBE a few coded things from our resident Captain Amazing, Chancer.)

Role-play life is getting abit boring I +support that shit.
